Recently, Autoweek Magazine announced their yearly pick for their 'Best of the Best' awards, which are given out each year for two superior vehicles. This year, the 2013 Porsche Boxster S was named the 'Best of the Best Car', beating out its sibling rival - the Porsche 911. The Mercedes-Benz GL-Class was named 'Best of the Best Truck' and was credited for being a large SUV but driving with the smoothness and agility of a much smaller vehicle. "It was a tough call to make this year with so many incredible cars and trucks that debuted," Wes Raynal, editor for Autoweek, told media. "After a year of evaluating everything on the market, the Porsche Boxster S and Mercedes-Benz GL-Class rose to the top, really earning these two awards."

A group of editors from Autoweek chose the final vehicles based on several aspects, including ride quality, drivetrain, handling, interior and exterior design and the level of fun each car provided while being driven.
