Porsche Talks About the Cayenne Plug-In Hybrid

Porsche has recently announced the coming of the Porsche Cayenne Plug-In Hybrid version.  This Cayenne e-Hybrid would use a rechargeable electric motor to power the vehicle, but also have a fuel engine to engage during higher speeds and longer trips.  The electric motor has 100 horsepower, which is pretty hefty for a regular motor, and because of its location, the Cayenne will have constant 4WD in all driving modes. When the gas engine is engaged, the new Cayenne e-Hybrid will have 420 horsepower to play with and will have the luxury and technology to match the engine performance.  This new Cayenne is set to be released for the 2014 model year, which means we will see it some time during 2013.

Porsche also plans to release a Panamer plug-in hybrid which will feature nearly identical technology.  We do not know the price of either car or the range of the electric motor.
